Am of the changeless
Ever changing
Sea
A wave
Rising and falling
Forever forming
Flowing

Broken water
Returning
Recalled to become
Another new experience

As ancient as the deep
Unfathomable depths
Is my knowledge

Tellable not by tongue
To be gleaned and glimpsed
By those with eyes to see

Calm
Yet
Capable
Of such surging
Movement
Enough even to alter
The face of the Earth

There wasn’t a cup
To hold the grief.
There weren’t any words,
Or a hand,
To bridge
The despair.
So the wind of the lie
Came in.
It tried to destroy
The red velvet petals,
The careful weaving,
The sacrifice.
It almost, almost, destroyed me.

There has to be a strong vessel
In the world,
To hold the love
And our differences,
So that life is bearable
And the injury that leads to the war
Is never allowed again.
