The soul has a voice in the arts, especially in music. In the West, we have the Troubadour songs of the 12th and 13th Centuries. They are the first love songs that have been preserved. This lead, in time, to opera and popular music as we know it today. The oldest opera which is regularly performed is Monteverdi’s ‘L’Orfeo’, (1607). It’s no accident that it tells the story of Orfeo, who has to go to the underworld to find his love, Euridice. She has died and he cannot live without her. Popular music is so often about the soul. There’s a lovely series on BBC Radio 4, called ‘Soul Music’ dedicated to music which has affected the souls of people.
Humanity has lost its soul in so many ways. When the soul has a voice in life, She can speak for Her reality, which is the reality of how people and other living creatures feel inside and how the body feels. This is left out of decisions, so we treat people, animals and other forms of life as if they have no feeling, no inner life. We treat their bodies as if their physical pain doesn’t matter. This makes life terrifying. There is no justification for the way animals are used for food production or for experiments, or for people sleeping rough on the streets, yet so many women do not know or say it is wrong.
There is, at present, no woman in politics anywhere in the world who stands for the Feminine, but it will happen. The soul level of the Feminine will make sure that all living creatures are kindly treated. This will be challenging for the people who have a very limited idea of what Love is!
